100 flowers

I just made a little over a 100 flowers and was asked to post a picture!  They are all the same. I am going to use them for a charm style bracelet, which I call  a cha cha bracelet...no idea where this name came from.  But I use it and like it!  I am not sure if you can see the difference, but there are two styles....just a slice from  the cane with a hole running top to bottom.  The other is a more "scultped" type of bead.....I sliced a thin slice from the cane and then shaped it to look like a flower.  The hole is in the middle.

Here is a completed "cha cha' bracelet using the both styles of the white flower! Also the leaf beads are made out of polymer clay by me too!  The other beads are glass and metal.

I will have to post when I get a few of the bracelets made up. My goal at the moment is to get a wack of beads stock piled in different colours, so when yucky weather hits this winter I can beach in front of the tv and make bracelets with a cup of tea! :)

Has it really been almost a year??

I can't hardly believe it has almost been a year since I blogged.  I have to giggle, because there are some blogs that when I get my cup of tea, I sit down and immediately check to see if there are any updates....AND....if there isn't I think come on people I wanna check out whats knew!!  And then my own poor wee blog sits for almost a year....I hang my head in shame!!

I have been quite busy this past year...but I won't bore you with all the details!! I have learned a few new things, I LOVE learning new things!! I love it even more when they work!

This is a pixalated -retro-blend cane that was invented by an amazing AND generous Polymer clay artist, Bettina Welker.  Google her....her work is absolutely stunning!  She made this cane and was so kind to share it with the rest of us common folk!!  And I LOVE it.  It is sooo much fun to make.
Here is a sheet I made out of a some blue to green.....which really doesn't look like there is any blue!  But honestly it was blue!!  It boggles my mind how the colours combine and change all through a little hole in an extruder.
I will post more about this neat little tool, that every person working in Polymer Clay needs to own!!  I know I have only skimmed the tippy top of the iceberg when it comes to what this tool can do and am looking forward to learning how to do other things with it!!
Thank-you Bettina for sharing your knowledge with us!!

See you all next year....I mean... more often than that!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's nice to reflect on all the things you are thank-ful for. We really should do it more often. Then I think we wouldn't be so focused on all the "bad" stuff in life, because even though there is the bad stuff, there is sooo much good stuff too! I am thankful for my family, my friends, the country I live in....actually the town I live in!! I hope NEVER to move!! :) I am thankful for a job for both me and my husband. For 2 awesome girls....who even though they make me bang my head against the wall sometimes, I wouldn't trade them in for anything!!!! I am thankful for a roof over my head and a vehicle to drive....sooo many things to be thankful for. I am thankful for health.
I am thank-ful that I can be creative and make beads and jewellery!! I am thankful that there are people who actually want to buy it!!!
What are you thankful about??
Oh and I am thankful for TURKEYS!! cause with out them thanksgiving wouldn't be as good!
My daughter said pumkin pie....but not just ANY pumpkin pie...but Grandma's pumkin pie!! YUM
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

I finally did it!!

After way too much time I finally listed something on Etsy. I think for me the part that was keeping me from actually doing it was the picture taking. I sure don't have great pictures. Everyone really takes good ones and mine are yuck. But instead of wishing I took better ones I will use the ones I have and continue to get better!!

Check me out on Etsy!

The picture of the lentil beads are whats on my Etsy store! It's a listing for 6 lentil polymer clay beads. (Price is $12.00 for them....just in case you were wondering!!!) When I think of all the work and time to make each cane and then make the bead....thats a steal of a deal! Hope someone else thinks so! I am going to try and list things a little more regularly once I figure it all out. I am not kidding when I say that I spent HOURS today trying to figure it out. I know its a learning curve....but wowza!!

Hope you are enjoy this amazing September weather!!

Now I am off to do some NON computer related things!!

Summer vacation fun!!

We just got back from our holidays! It was so nice to get away and enjoy family but it was so nice to get home too!! While away I got a chance to do some claying with my sister in law. It's nice to play...I mean clay....with someone!! We both made some canes and got to enjoy a few cups of tea together!! I was trying to focus on a few colours that was lacking in my cane box! I have many more to make! I made a few quick beads while there too...they need to be sanded and buffed yet, but here's a peek anyways!

Hope you are enjoying your summer too!! Our summer was late in arriving....but am so enjoying it now that it is here!!

Happy claying,

Kam

Heart pendants!

I LOVE hearts. Some people aren't heart people at all.....and I don't hold anything against them...but hearts just make me smile!! I have used heart cookie cutters before and have been happy with that. But I wanted to make one that had the pattern on both sides, so you can wear it anyway you want! Last night I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I figured I might as well give it a try! I am sure there are easier ways to get this style done, but I did it the way I figured it was done!! I will have to practice more, but this is a picture of my first attempt. I am pleased with it and can't wait to make more!

Pens and more pens!!

I do a street market on Tuesday evenings here in Parksville. It's called Summer by the sea market....or by the locals, Craig Street market! I had 4 wee little pens on my table last week, and sold 2 of them...so figured it was time to make some new ones. Yesterday I sat down and made 16 new pens for tonights market. After all the sanding....my fingers were kinda angry at me!! Very sore! BUT I got them done and they are ready to go for market tonight. Hopefully I won't be bringing ALL of them home!!
